For our homework we had to create three pieces of artwork that relate to the environment in any way and how the environment is being damaged. We also had to draw/paint them in red. My first drawing shows plastic bottles chucked on the floor, it was disgusting and it showed how plastic is killing the environment. About 31 million tonnes of waste is produced in the UK every year. We need more recycling and more biodegradable materials. Plastic pollutes our oceans and doesn't break down. The second drawing was of a crane showing how we are always building new properties and getting rid of green spaces. For new buildings, are they using eco-friendly, green solutions for construction and materials? We need to build for a sustainable future. The third drawing was similar to my first drawing where plastic and rubbish is being left on the grass, but then there is also a father and daughter walking by . Green spaces, trees, wildlife are so important and should be cared for. Will climate change issues be worse or better by the time the little girl is grown up in 20 years time? There is also the innocence of childhood compared to the 'adult' world of crises and global issues.
