Life between islands Tate Britain

This is a big show featuring 46 artists . It's a really rich exploration of being black in Britain, from racial tensions, upheaval, to forging an identity, being part of a community, mixing cultures. There is a wide range of work, painting, sculpture, photography, installation, abstract, figurative, political work, and covers about 80 years with different generations of artists represented. Feelings such as alienation , displacement and anxiety ( associated with insomnia) are reflected in some of the works.
